Wall Insulation

There are a few options we offer for wall insulation. To find out more, start by selecting the type of wall you have.

Cavity Wall Insulation

Your home is likely to be eligible for cavity wall insulation if it was built from the 1920's onwards. Insulating the cavity in your home could cut your energy usage by up to 35%.

If your home was built pre 1920's, is sandstone or limestone, then it's likely the external walls are solid, without a traditional cavity to insulate.

Cavity Wall Insulation

One of the best and most cost effective ways to insulate your home is with cavity wall insulation.

Your property may have a cavity wall if it was built after the 1920's.

Cavity walls are made up of two layers; one internal wall (also known as a skin or leaf) and one external wall, separated by an air gap known as a cavity.

The cavity was originally included so that moisture could drain away when it travelled through the external brick from outside, but modern insulation technology means that this can be insulated without compromising the purpose of the cavity.

Beads are injected through drill holes made externally on the building and bonded with a glue which helps form a rigid filling inside the wall. This is particularly useful when elements like doors and windows are being changed, meaning they can be replaced without piles of loose bead falling out.

Our installations are carried out by qualified professional installers and backed by an independent 25 year guarantee.

SWI

If you live in a sandstone property or your walls are less than 260mm, it's likely that your property is of solid construction.

To insulate solid walls, you can carry out Internal Wall Insulation (IWI).

Traditionally, IWI can be a time consuming, labour intensive and often disruptive way of treating solid walled properties, but at Energy Pig we have a revolutionary insulation process which allows us to inject insulation bead internally.

The bead is injected through drill holes on the internal wall and bonded to form a rigid structure inside the wall, so if any sockets or pipes are changed, the beads will stay in place

All electrical services are located at survey and sleeved with protective conduit to ensure they are not affected by the insulation.

Installation can be done in as little as one day depending on the property size.

We'll fill in all the injection holes and even provide you with a decoration voucher so your walls are as good as new!
